CC took its commitment to our local communities a step further than just supporting staff participation – in 2009, CC General Manager Kristi Kinnard teamed up with the Athens County Economic Development Center to create the networking group Young Athens Professionals. YAP’s mission is to encourage the young professionals of Athens County to meet and network while supporting local businesses. To facilitate those connections, YAP holds a monthly social happy hour on the second Thursday of every month. There are no member dues, the events are casual and laid back, and all events are open to the public.

In 2015, Career Connections passed the YAP organizing reigns to CC’s job search assistance division, Next Step. If you would like to be added to the YAP email listserv to receive updates on YAP events, if you have questions about YAP, or if you would like to discuss potentially sponsoring or hosting a YAP event, please email Kristin Franks at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Career Connections is locally-owned and operated, and as such we are dedicated to serving and improving our communities. CC management encourages all CC staffers to participate in community organizations; as a result our staffers are members of a variety of community organizations, including (but certainly not limited to): Athens Sunrise Rotary, Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Gallia County Chamber of Commerce, Athens Professionals for Philanthropy, Leadership Athens County, and Athens County Child Advocacy Center.

CC’s dedication to supporting our communities goes deeper than staff members organizing and participating in community events – we also sponsor and donate to local organizations and charities. In addition to the several annual sponsorships that we commit to, we also set aside extra funds in order to honor requests from local organizations, non-profits, and charities that come in throughout the year.
To best facilitate the dispersal of those extra funds and to give our CC staff a say in where our support goes, we have a community donations team called “CC Cares.” The group meets at the end of every month to discuss donation requests and decide where to distribute funds. If you or your organization would like to request support from CC, please fill out and submit the form below. We will be back in contact with you as soon as possible.
